The Performance From elegant instrumental jazz to accompany an intimate dinner setting, to an evening of dancing to the rhythms of Latin America, to the interpretation of swing standards from the traditional (Frank Sinatra) to the new (Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jamie Cullum, and Michael Buble), LOCURA brings to your event, a performance dictated by the spirit you wish to create. Although predominantly a 4 piece, we also perform as a solo (piano), duo or trio. A common request is an instrumental trio before or during dinner, followed by the 4 piece after dinner for dancing. Locura has performed throughout the lower mainland for events ranging from private parties, to block parties, wine and cheese events, high end lounges such as the Shore Club and River Rock, Vancouver Golf Club, Jericho Tennis Club to the Vancouver East Cultural Centre, the CBC, and the Langley Jazz Festival to mention a few. |

The Band Locura is led by Ikuko May, who has won several awards for her vocal work, and has been a headline regular performer at Rossini's here in the city for several years. She was the opening act for the Ray Brown Trio here in Vancouver, and she also currrently performs in various locations overseas. The piano, bass and drum trio have been playing together as a unit for 4 years in and around Vancouver in a very wide range of venues and functions.
